A net zero home is a home with zero net energy consumption. Basically this means the total amount of energy consumed by the building is roughly equal to the amount of renewable energy created on the site by a renewable energy source.

Solar energy is a popular choice in our area, solar panels do not have moving parts, are not noisy or intrusive and in many cases can be roof mounted and will not detract from the appearance of a home. In every case a bi-directional electricity meter is installed to monitor and record the flow of electricity to and from your home. Your energy bill would then be reflective of the energy consumed or provided to and from the power grid.
